Apple's iOS Closes More Than 160 Security flaws

Apple's iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 updates patch more than 160 security vulnerabilities, according to MacRumors. The flaws have now been detailed publicly, so devices left on older software may be exposed.
Scope of the security fixes
According to the report, more than 30 of the fixes address WebKit and approximately 15 address kernel bugs. The facts available do not break down the remaining corrections.
Six of the entries are credited to Calif, the team that jailbroke the iPhone Duo on launch day and showed an untethered jailbreak on iOS 27.0.1.
Exploitation status and exposure
Apple has not stated that any of the flaws are known to be actively exploited. With the details now published, however, devices that have not been updated could be subject to attack.
Calif researcher Stefan Esser recently said that most of the vulnerabilities used for the jailbreak are fixed in iOS 27.2.
Growing volume of fixes
Security fixes in iOS updates keep increasing, a trend the report ties to AI models becoming better at locating vulnerabilities.
Apple is a software and consumer electronics company based in Cupertino.
