Infineon, NVIDIA and Microsoft back European physical AI startups
What happened
Infineon Technologies, NVIDIA, Microsoft and UnternehmerTUM Accelerator have launched the Physical AI Growth Lab, an equity-free accelerator aimed at helping robotics and industrial AI startups move from prototypes to commercial deployment. Selected startups will receive access to Microsoft for Startups benefits, including up to $350,000 in Azure credits, NVIDIA development resources and Infineon’s hardware expertise. Microsoft is a software development and software company based in Redmond, and its products and services include Azure. NVIDIA is a semiconductor company based in Santa Clara.
For eeNews Europe readers, the initiative highlights the growing importance of combining AI development platforms with semiconductor hardware to bring autonomous systems into industrial environments.
The Physical AI Growth Lab could provide early-stage European companies with access to technologies and customers that are otherwise difficult to secure. Physical AI Growth Lab connects hardware and AI development The accelerator brings together four organisations covering different stages of physical AI development, from simulation and model training to hardware integration and industrial deployment.
These components form the hardware foundation for robotic systems that must sense their surroundings, process information and control physical movement. “The future of robotics will be built through collaboration,” said Allan Frederiksen, Technology and Innovation Officer at Infineon.
Supporting robotics startups across EMEA The Physical AI Growth Lab is open to startups based in or developing solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Applicants must have a working prototype or minimum viable product, at least one technical co-founder and a team of no more than 20 people. Eligible companies must have been founded within the past three years.
