What happened

Curve Finance has launched on Stellar mainnet, its first native deployment outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem. It is the first time the decentralized exchange has deployed natively outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem.

Curve Finance and the Stellar Development Foundation announced the release on Thursday. The deployment brings Curve’s StableSwap exchange to Stellar with its core features intact.

What actually launched Users on Stellar can now create pools without needing anyone’s permission. Curve's expansion to Stellar signifies a strategic shift, potentially enhancing DeFi's reach and diversifying liquidity options beyond EVM chains.

Curve Finance has gone live on Stellar mainnet. They can also browse existing pools, swap assets and supply liquidity.

It is built for trading assets whose prices are supposed to move together. Think stablecoins (a digital token meant to hold a fixed value, usually one dollar) pegged to the same currency, wrapped Bitcoin tokens, or synthetic versions of other crypto assets.

Two dollar-pegged tokens should trade close to one-for-one, and StableSwap is designed around that expectation. The EVM detail is the real headline for DeFi watchers.
