The platform will be expanded to cover conditions including congestive heart failure, pressure ulcers and a range of hospital-acquired infections.
Founded in South Africa in 2022 by siblings Josiah and Jemima Meyer, Healthleap has developed a platform that screens hospital patients for conditions that often go undiagnosed. The platform reads each patient’s full electronic health record (EHR) every morning, including notes, labs, vitals, orders and problem lists, and flags risk.
It then pushes risk scores into clinicians’ existing EHR workflows, showing care teams which patients need attention first. Healthleap has initially focused on malnutrition, but now plans to expand its offering to cover additional conditions after raising the US$38 million round.
