Automation company beRobox has introduced 3D Dynamic Safety, a new safety module for its PALTZ robotic palletizers. According to the company, the module represents a fundamentally new approach to safeguarding palletizing operations.

Sensor mounted on the robot arm

The module is powered by the safety-certified ADAR One 3D ultrasonic sensor from Sonair, and the detection capability is integrated directly onto the robot arm rather than fixed in the surrounding area.

Instead of keeping safety detection static around the robot, the design is intended to move with the robot, as the company puts it. As the arm travels through its workspace, the sensor travels with it, creating a dynamic protective zone that continuously adjusts to the robot's position.
