WhatsApp is bringing its scheduled messages test from Android to iPhone, and some users of its iOS beta can now try the feature. According to GSMArena, the rollout will widen over the coming weeks.

Rollout reaches iPhone beta testers

Earlier this month, WhatsApp started testing the feature, which lets users queue a message for later delivery, with some Android beta testers. The iOS version now follows that first step.

For the moment, access is limited to some users of the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.42.10.19, which is distributed through Apple's TestFlight platform. Further users are set to receive the feature in the coming weeks.

How scheduling works on iPhone

Users type a message, then press and hold the send button to open a date and time picker. Confirming with the green button at the bottom displays the exact delivery time.

According to the report, the steps mirror those on Android.

A long-requested feature

GSMArena describes scheduled messages as one of WhatsApp's most-requested features, and says iPhone users have waited years for it. According to the same account, development has been under way since at least February.
