Munich-based Agile Robots SE has unveiled the Agile ONE SN, a compact humanoid aimed at universities and research institutions, and says it plans to build between 1,000 and 2,000 humanoid robots in 2027, all running on Nvidia technology.

Specifications of the Agile ONE SN

The Agile ONE SN is a smaller model presented alongside the announcement, which the company describes as a compact humanoid reference platform built for research work. Depending on configuration it weighs roughly 34 to 43 kilograms, and its spec sheet records 31 degrees of freedom. It also carries dexterous five-fingered hands and integrated cameras.

Nvidia supplies the computing side: the SN's cameras and onboard processing are handled by Nvidia's Jetson Thor platform, and Nvidia is contributing its Isaac GR00T foundation model. The partnership is built around standardised combinations of hardware and software.

Academic customers and production schedule

Agile Robots is courting leading academic institutions with the SN, and Stanford University and ETH Zurich are among the organisations the company is targeting as customers for the research edition. The company argues that mass-producing Nvidia-powered humanoids could speed up robotics research and change how universities collaborate.

The SN is not the first humanoid from the company, which presented its full-size Agile ONE in November 2025. Production of both the standard Agile ONE S and the SN variant is planned to start by the end of 2026, with output projected at 1,000 to 2,000 units in 2027.

Background on the company

Agile Robots was founded in 2018 as a spin-off from the German Aerospace Center, DLR. Nvidia, the Santa Clara-based semiconductor firm, sells graphics processing units and software among its products and services.
