Nvidia’s Jim Fan says GR00T keynote teaser shows real autonomous robots at normal speed

What happened
Fan is using the stage to show where Nvidia’s humanoid robotics effort has landed. What Fan confirmed, and why it counts Fan’s statement covers three things at once. NVIDIA is a semiconductor company based in Santa Clara.
The hardware is physical rather than simulated. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang publicly unveiled the project at GTC 2024.
That clarification matters more than it sounds. The keynote is scheduled for the Conference on Robot Learning (CoRL) 2026, set for November 9, 2026, in Austin, Texas.
The robot runs autonomously rather than under teleoperation (a person controlling a machine from somewhere else). And the footage plays at its actual speed.
What Project GR00T is trying to build Project GR00T is Nvidia’s push to create foundation models for humanoid robots. These are general-purpose AI systems that combine vision, language, and action in a single model.
The name stands for “Generalist Robot 00 Technology.”
