WORLDTECHMicrosoft's redesigned Xbox PC app launches up to 60% faster for Insiders
Microsoft is rolling out a redesigned Xbox PC app for Insiders that it says launches up to 60% faster, alongside a refreshed Xbox Cloud Gaming web interface. The company's claims were reported by Neowin.
Performance claims for the new app
According to the report, Microsoft says the redesigned Xbox app launches up to 60% faster for Insiders. The company also claims that its Home, Store and Game Pass pages load up to 50% faster, and that in-app windows open 65% faster.
The claims come without a stated startup time or supplied test data, which the report notes makes them harder to evaluate than the figures themselves suggest.
Timing follows rival launcher updates
The announcement follows a recent statement by Epic Games about significantly faster launch times for its new Epic Games Launcher, which it describes as vibe-coded. A Steam update later brought similar performance improvements.
The report suggests these moves may have prompted Microsoft to work on the performance of its own PC app.
Background on Microsoft
Microsoft is a software and software development company based in Redmond, founded in 1975.
