Neocloud IREN says $4 billion in annualized revenue being delayed due to customer request
What happened
Following a dramatic plunge in its stock price, IREN said some revenue is being delayed from 2026 until early next year. IREN's delay highlights the volatility of tech-dependent revenue streams and underscores the risks of relying on a few major clients.
Shares fell 55% over the past month, including a 26% post-election plunge, before rising in extended trading after the report. The numbers behind the delay Start with the good news.
It also told investors that one of its biggest promises is running late.
The neocloud said in its Thursday earnings report that more than $4 billion in annual recurring revenue, originally projected to arrive in 2026, has been pushed out to at least January. For a company that has rebuilt its pitch around AI infrastructure, that is not a small footnote.
IREN posted revenue of $228 million for the quarter, up 66% from the prior quarter. That topped the $221 million average analyst estimate compiled by LSEG.
The quarter in question is IREN’s first quarter of fiscal 2027, covering the period ending September 30, 2026. The company reported results on November 5, 2026.
