AMD publishes Windows chipset driver covering Ryzen 9000 to 3000 series
AMD has put out a new chipset driver for Windows 11 and Windows 10 that covers several Ryzen processor families, according to a report by Neowin.
Which processor families the package supports
The package is aimed at several Ryzen processor families, among them the 9000, 7000, 5000 and 3000 series. The report indicates that the list of supported chips is broader than these named families.
Because the driver is offered for both Windows 11 and Windows 10, owners of compatible machines on either system are within its scope.
Background on the two companies
AMD is a semiconductor company headquartered in Sunnyvale that was founded in 1969, and its product range includes chipsets of the type the driver serves. Microsoft, based in Redmond and founded in 1975, develops the Windows operating system on which the driver runs.
