What happened

Memtest86+ 9.0 brings the popular open-source memory testing utility to ARM64 devices, including Snapdragon X laptops and Raspberry Pi boards. The update also introduces new RowHammer and memory bus stress tests. Arm is based in Cambridge, and its products and services include software.

Aarch64 support has currently been tested on Qualcommm Snapdragon X laptop, Raspberry Pi 4 & 5 (with community UEFI firmware) and QEMU. Memtest86+ is a free, open-source, stand-alone memory tester for x86, x86-64, ARM64, and LoongArch64 architecture computers.

It provides a much more thorough memory check than that provided by BIOS memory tests. It is also able to access almost all the computer's memory, not being restricted by the memory used by the operating system and not depending on any underlying software like UEFI libraries.

Memtest86+ can be loaded and run either directly by a PC BIOS (legacy or UEFI) or via an intermediate bootloader that provides support for the Linux 16-bit, 32-bit, 64-bit, or EFI handover boot protocol. It should work on any Pentium class or later 32-bit or 64-bit CPU (the general-purpose processor at the centre of a computer).

Save Report to USB Drive Writing reports to USB drive was probably the most wanted feature. Press F6 to save a full-text report with system information, memory modules and testing results to a FAT32-formatted USB drive.
