Samsung is offering a more lavishly finished version of its Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in China at $2,850, according to a report by Gizmochina.

Finish and hardware of the W27

The Galaxy W27 uses a two-tone design, with golden highlights on the frame, hinge, camera module and lens rings, plus a "Heart to the World" emblem on the rear. It comes in Jihu Blue and Jixia Hong.

Gizmochina reports that the frame is built from Advanced Armor Aluminum and the cover display is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. The handset is rated IP48, and a capacitive fingerprint sensor sits on the side.

Screens and cameras

The main foldable panel is an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 2,504 × 2,256 pixels, paired with a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen at 2,520 × 1,080 pixels. Both reach 3,000 nits peak brightness and support HDR10+.

The rear camera array combines a 200MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus and a 10MP 3x telephoto, while two 10MP selfie cameras complete the setup.

A pattern of China-only models

According to Gizmochina, Samsung keeps producing its most elaborate foldables exclusively for the Chinese market, and the W27 fits that pattern.
