You can now pair an Apple Watch with Android, but there’s a big catch

What happened

But an enterprising developer has found a way around that restriction, managing to pair an Apple Watch Ultra 2 directly with an Android phone . The open-source (published so anyone may read, use and change the code) project offers some basic Apple Watch functionality, although several features remain incomplete. Apple is a software and consumer electronics company based in Cupertino, and its products and services include Apple Watch. Google is an Internet and software company based in Mountain View.

It currently requires a rooted Android phone and has only been verified on a OnePlus 13. Apple isn’t exactly famous for making its gadgets play nicely with Android. The Apple Watch is a particularly stubborn example, which can only be paired with an iPhone — at least as far as Apple is concerned.
