What happened
Cisco has patched (a fix the maker issues for a flaw in its software) another actively exploited zero-day (a flaw already being used in attacks before a fix exists) flaw in its Secure Email Gateway (SEG) that lets remote unauthenticated attackers execute commands with root privileges. Cisco is a telecommunications and networking hardware company based in San Jose, founded in 1984, which employed about 86,000 people in 2025.
