Danish BioTech Samplix secures €25 million in first close of financing round to scale antibody discovery
What happened
Samplix, a Danish BioTech company developing droplet microfluidics technology for functional single-cell analysis, has announced a €25 million first closing of a financing round.
It was led by WLanholding GmbH, a privately owned European investment firm with participation from all major shareholders.
The round remains open to additional investors with a total target of €30 million. Headquartered in Birkerød, Samplix was founded in 2013 with the vision of making high-throughput (how much work a system gets through in a given time) cellular screening accessible without specialised instrumentation.
It develops microfluidics technologies for high-throughput, function-first single-cell analysis and provides droplet microfluidics technology for functional single-cell analysis in the biopharmaceutical sector. Its core offering is the Xdrop platform, which encloses individual living cells and assay reagents in millions of tiny double-emulsion droplets.
Each droplet acts as a miniature, self-contained reaction vessel, allowing researchers to observe cell behaviour. The company says its droplets are compatible with standard flow cytometry and cell-sorting equipment, enabling high-throughput analysis and sorting of functional droplets.
