Microsoft responds to White House immigration crackdown as Trump honors Nadella

What happened

The Labor Department suspended Microsoft from the federal program it operates with to help foreign workers stay in the U.S. permanently, and won't process the company's pending applications. Microsoft is a software and software development company based in Redmond.

The announcement came hours before President Trump was scheduled to give Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
