UP cabinet approves startup procurement scheme

What happened

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Uttar Pradesh Startup Procurement Scheme - 2026. Access to government procurement opportunities will encourage business expansion among startups and generate additional direct and indirect employment opportunities in the state, the statement added.

The scheme aims to facilitate startups’ access to various departments of the Uttar Pradesh government. The departments will make purchases from their approved budgetary provisions.

The Uttar Pradesh Startup Mission will be responsible for establishing, operating and maintaining the UP Startup E-Marketplace, ensuring its continued implementation. The Uttar Pradesh government also approved a skill training and employment development scheme to make the state a key sourcing hub for skilled manpower and a “global manpower hub”.
