Infineon 27 kW PSU targets next-generation AI server racks
What happened
Infineon Technologies has introduced a 27 kW three-phase power supply unit (PSU) reference design for next-generation AI servers, addressing the growing power demands of high-density GPU (a chip built for many calculations at once, used for graphics and AI) racks. For eeNews readers in data centre power design, the new AI server power supply offers a combination of high efficiency, increased power density and integrated energy buffering, reducing the need for additional power components at rack level.
The design provides support for the industry’s transition towards 800 VDC and ±400 VDC power architectures while meeting the requirements of the Open Compute Project (OCP) Open Rack V3 specification. […] The post Infineon 27 kW PSU targets next-generation AI server racks appeared first on eeNews Europe . Five-level PFC pushes efficiency beyond 98% The 27 kW PSU combines Infineon’s 650 V CoolSiC and CoolMOS MOSFETs, EiceDRIVER gate drivers, XENSIV current sensors and PSOC microcontrollers.
