Google just gave Gemini a new role to fill at work, and it’s a big one

What happened

TL;DR Google has introduced a new universal Gemini agent that can complete multi-step tasks across apps without constant user input. Your next coworker might be AI, and it already has email. Google is an Internet and software company based in Mountain View.

The agent works with Google Workspace, Slack, and Microsoft 365, maintains context across devices, and can use specialized AI sub-agents. It’s currently available only to enterprise customers in private preview, with no word on a wider consumer release. That’s pretty much what Google is working toward with its latest announcement .
