Cisco warns of critical flaws allowing Nexus switch takeover

What happened

Cisco released security advisories for five critical vulnerabilities in its NX-OS data center (a building full of computers that runs online services) network operating system that could be exploited to run arbitrary code with root privileges on Nexus switches. Cisco is a telecommunications and networking hardware company based in San Jose, founded in 1984, which employed about 86,000 people in 2025, and its products and services include network switches.
