What happened

Google’s cross-model AI detection tool is finally available for all, according to Android Authority. Synthid.com can detect AI watermarks from Google, OpenAI, Kakao, and more, and it's finally available for all to use. The portal, accessible at synthid.com, lets you check if a photo, video, or audio track was generated by AI. Google is an Internet and software company based in Mountain View. OpenAI is an artificial intelligence company based in San Francisco.

The SynthID Detector portal can detect watermarks made by Google, OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Kakao services, with Apple support coming soon. Google and OpenAI have long allowed users to check media for SynthID watermarks.

However, one major downside is that you need to use Gemini or OpenAI’s website to verify content. Google also has a dedicated SynthID Detector tool, but this has been limited to select testers for over a year now.
