London-based MintNeuro has raised $5 million in a funding round led by Odyssey Ventures. MintNeuro has raised $5 million to scale its semiconductor platform for neural devices, addressing a hardware bottleneck that can slow the development of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and other medical technologies.

The company has already developed working silicon and reached integration milestones with Motif Neurotech and Amber Therapeutics. The Imperial College London spinout develops specialised chips for neural implants and wearables.

The round was led by Odyssey Ventures, with participation from JSK Investments, 33East and Alumni Ventures. Existing investors Empirical Ventures, Jumpspace Ventures and earlier backers also reinvested.
