Microsoft Overhauls Windows 11 Search To Control Your PC Faster Than Ever

What happened

In addition to the numerous changes introduced with 26H2, some of the new advanced search features come by way of WinUI 3. With the latest build, Microsoft Insider Program members have access to an overhauled Search feature, that can trigger many additional actions directly from the search window. Microsoft is a software and software development company based in Redmond, and its products and services include Microsoft Windows.

Microsoft is making big changes to the design and capabilities of Windows Search, debuting natural language controls for your PC and phone. In its ongoing mission to improve Windows 11’s Search experience, Microsoft is giving the feature more control over your PC.

Windows Insiders can try these new capabilities now, but everyone will be able to make some changes to their operating system via natural language prompts in the future. Microsoft shares details of these potential commands, as well as the new design of Search, in a recent Windows Blog.

The examples provided include single-word controls, like β€œmute” but also some phrases and complete sentences. For instance, the firm is already teasing the ability to make commands via Phone Link from the Search bar.
