Darryl Linington , Published 10/13/2026 πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ Gaming Launch Game Releases LevelHead has replaced the Godot engine in Turing Complete with an in-house engine and a custom compiler, according to the Turing Complete 2 patch notes posted on Steam on July 14, 2026. Early access exit is due this year.

The developer describes the update as a major rewrite that took years to complete. The rewrite touches nearly everything, from circuit simulation to the levels and the score server.

What changed under the hood The patch notes list five behind-the-scenes changes. Godot was replaced with LevelHead’s own game engine, a custom assembly framework was created, a custom compiler was built, and every level and component was reimplemented. The score server was also rewritten because the old one kept crashing.
