Nvidia DLSS 5 power draw hits 647W as power connector runs hotter than the GPU die, upscales frame rates and flame temps on 16-pin
Single source: this development was reported by Tom's Hardware. What WORLDTECH can establish is that the report was made, and by whom. It has not been matched against a second independent organisation and has not been officially confirmed by the organisations involved.

What happened
QuasarZone tests show the 16-pin power connector on a GeForce RTX 5090 reaches temperatures above 90 degrees Celsius at peak power consumption near 650W. Notably, that is higher than the standard temperatures measured for the GPU die.
Rubin in-depth The Stout Owl: The ultimate Noctua G2 PC While less frequent, user reports of the 16-pin power connector melting are still popping up if you look around the Internet, particularly on Reddit. Even a couple of media outlets have also encountered power connector meltdowns during their use.
So, it is not an issue that affects only new users; 16-pin power connector failures extend to seasoned industry veterans, too. There is no prejudice toward Nvidia's Blackwell-powered graphics cards, either.
