Sovera Security secures €535K from EIFO to build sovereign AI cybersecurity

What happened

Danish cybersecurity company Sovera Security has secured €535,000 (4 million DKK) from the Danish Export and Investment Fund (EIFO). As geopolitical tensions rise, new regulation and the rapid adoption of AI reshape the cybersecurity landscape, European organisations are placing greater focus on how their critical systems and data are protected.

Europe’s cybersecurity landscape is also shaped by its continued dependence on non-European providers for several strategic digital technologies. This is increasing the focus on digital resilience, supply chains, and European control, alongside new regulatory requirements and the growing use of AI. For European organisations, the question is therefore no longer only how AI can improve cybersecurity, but also where sensitive data is processed, how AI-driven decisions are made and who ultimately controls the technology.
