Startup Moores Lab AI hopes to provide a definitive answer with its end-to-end chip design automation products. Founded last year by chip industry veterans, the company contends that for AI agents (AI that carries out multi-step tasks rather than answering one question) to solve chip design problems, they must be designed by people with deep chip design expertise.

“Most of the startups in the same space trying to automate semiconductor flows are all coming from the AI background,” said Shelly Henry, the company’s CEO and co-founder. Moores Lab AI’s initial focus is on speeding up verification, debugging, and coverage.
