What happened

Enerzolve is building power converters, transformers, and meters for India's grid, according to YourStory. Bengaluru startup Enerzolve makes power converters that connect batteries to the grid and is developing a software-driven alternative to transformers. A battery can store electricity, but it cannot connect to the grid on its own.

The grid runs on alternating current (AC), while batteries use direct current (DC). A converter is needed between the two to change the power in both directions.

Much of this equipment, including the components used to make it, is imported, says Abhay Adya, Founder and CEO of Enerzolve Smart Technologies. In 2025, he founded the Bengaluru-based startup to design and manufacture more of it in India.
