Kindle gets a clicker: Amazon unveils $35 page-turning remote and refreshes its e-reader lineup

What happened

Amazon unveiled the Kindle Click, a $34.99 Bluetooth remote for turning pages, alongside a redesigned lineup of Kindle e-readers with flush screens, optional aluminum housings and user-replaceable batteries. The company on Thursday unveiled the Kindle Click , a $34.99 Bluetooth remote control that lets readers prop up their e-readers and turn pages without holding or reaching for them.

It’s available for preorder and ships Oct. (Amazon Photo) Amazon’s Kindle is joining the ranks of TVs and garage doors.

It’s the first official Kindle remote, debuting alongside a redesigned lineup of Kindle e-readers . Amazon says it’s meant for reading under the covers, on a treadmill, or on an airplane tray table.
