Pyth DAO Approves ‘100% Rule’ Directing Its Share of Product Revenue to PYTH Buybacks
What happened
The Pyth DAO approved a proposal, OP-PIP-136 , that sends 100% of what it receives from Pyth’s products into open-market purchases of PYTH , Pyth Network announced on Oct. OP-PIP-136 replaces those votes with one standing authorization and extends the policy to non-PYTH assets the DAO already holds.
The change replaces monthly votes with one standing authorization after the DAO's monthly purchases fell from about 2.75 million PYTH in March to 669,662 in August. The DAO’s governance forum lists the proposal as passed, and Pyth said the first purchases under it ran on Sept.
The DAO has held a PYTH Reserve since December 2025, funded by monthly purchases sized at one third of its non-PYTH treasury balance, each needing its own vote. Purchases Had Slowed The proposal’s author, who posts as KemarTiti, listed monthly purchases at about 2.75 million PYTH in March, 1.80 million in June, 1.14 million in July and 669,662 in August.
