Up to 27 times lower carbon footprint than beef – Edonia raises €15 million for their meat-alternative
What happened
French FoodTech startup Edonia, a B2B ingredient supplier specialised in ready-to-eat-protein ingredients, has raised €15 million to expand the commercial use of its microalgae-based ingredients. “ The goal now is simple: make enough of it, and bring it to food manufacturers and foodservice operators across Europe, Japan and the US ,” said CEO Hugo Valentin in a public statement.
The round was led by SWEN Blue Ocean 2, Asterion Ventures, EIT Food, and Bpifrance. This follows a previous €2 million round in 2024 – as covered by EU-Startups.
